I know very well that I have enormous faults - that my pride is very often vanity - and that perhaps my taste for great things comes from an extreme ease in accomplishing small things - I judge myself lucidly. You taught me that. But, in all this, I regret nothing. For I acted according to my heart and my feelings. And it is this small reason, ridiculously sentimental, which is at this moment my only strength.
