Letters: Rainer Maria Rilke

12 February 2018

You haven’t lost your “first twenty years” dear and serious friend. You have lost nothing that you could ever miss. You went home and created. Only a great deal later will you feel how much. In your art you will feel it. And someone is going to feel it in your life, the person who receives and enlarges it and will lift it into new and broader harmonies with his ripe, rich, understanding hands.
